Quiet Strength in the Gym

Welcome, my Blessed friend.

Recently, during a visit to the gym, my attention was drawn to a gym instructor and a lady he was working with. The lady in question had impaired movement, possibly recovering from a stroke. Observing the pair, I noticed two things: the gentle yet encouraging manner of the instructor and the determined nature of the lady, who was clearly giving her best effort in each exercise.

The strongest person in the gym….

My gym has a section especially for people with impaired mobility, equipped with a range of different equipment tailored to their needs. I’m grateful to live in a time where people with various movement needs are encouraged to participate in physical fitness and are welcomed into the community. It brings in people that I normally would not see.

How blessed I am to see these great examples of resilience and strength each day at the gym. Every movement for this lady was challenging, yet her face showed determination. There was something so noble about her actions. The character she displayed amidst her difficulties was a great example for me. I left the gym that day with an uplifted spirit as I saw the example she gave.

Reflection 🤔

I am thankful that my gym employs excellent trainers and has a space for people with impaired mobility to work out. Inspirational individuals don’t always have to have 80,000 people cheering for them; they can be the lady and trainer working quietly in a corner, going unnoticed. Today, think about someone in your world who is a gift in terms of their attitude or resilience. If no one comes to mind, then this week, make a conscious effort to observe and appreciate the quiet strength and determination in the people around you. Whether it's a colleague, a family member, or a stranger, take a moment to recognize their efforts and, if appropriate, offer a word of encouragement or gratitude.

Have a Blessed Week⚡️

God Bless 🙏
